How To Use Silk All In One Mineral Paint In 2 Easy Steps.

I love trying out new products and was thrilled to try out Dixie Belle's new paint line, Silk All In One Mineral paint.

This pint size paint is packed with everything you need for your DIY project. It has a built in stain blocker, primer, topcoat and leaves your piece with a gorgeous matte finish. Silk has a beautiful colour palette, with 20 colours to choose from, inspired by coastal hues.

I had the perfect piece to try out Silk All In One Mineral paint. Here is what you need and 2 easy steps to try it out on your next project.

Materials

Step One
Prep is the most important step when refinishing furniture. I cleaned my end table with White Lightning to remove any oil or residue. Once dry, I gave it a quick scuff sand with a sanding pad and then wiped the whole table with a damp rag to remove any residue. If painting over a slick or glossy surface, use Slick Stick first before painting.

Step Two
I used a dry synthetic brush to apply the paint to give a smooth finish. To get the best results, make sure to apply the paint in long strokes, moving back and forth over your piece. This will help to avoid any brushstrokes. There is no need to use a continuous mister bottle or add any water to your paint. Once I painted the whole table, I let it dry for a couple of hours and then added another coat.

I loved the result! It went on so easily, with virtually no brushstrokes. After 21 days it cured into a durable, matte finish. I loved how I was able to quickly transform my tired table. I added some Gold Gilding wax on the hardware and molding to make more of a dramatic impact.

Make sure to try out Silk All In One Mineral paint on your next project. Happy painting!
